Brooklands Jewellers was started in July 2010 by 3 jewellers, one setter and 2 mounters. They originally worked together in London’s famous Hatton Garden, and started the workshop above the current premises in 2000 (then Clarkes). Here they would work on pieces for their trade customers around the country.
When Clarkes ceased trading in 2010, the opportunity to open their own jewellers arose and Brooklands Jewellers was formed.
Meet the team:
Stewart started in the jewellery trade in 1978 completing his apprenticeship as a diamond mounter. He then worked in Hatton Garden until 2000.
Following his father in the jewellery trade, he started his apprenticeship in 1987 as a diamond setter. Dave then went on to work in Hatton Garden for 10 years until 2000 when he joined the other 2 jewellers in their private workshop above the current jewellers.
Starting in the trade at 14 with a Saturday job in an independent jewellers/silversmiths whilst on a work experience placement, Corinne then went on to study at Sir John Cass in London for 2 years where she completed an NVQ in Diamond mounting. Following that she went on to study for a BA Hons at Surrey Institute in Farnham, where, upon completion, she went on to work in the trade as a designer and diamond mounter.
